Q: How can I get free passes to attend an Infinity Hall Live Taping?
Free passes to our IHL Free and Easy Concerts are just that, free and easy. Once we announce that a show is coming to Hartford to be recorded for IHL, we set up an online random drawing for the general public to enter to win two free passes to attend the live show. If your name is randomly selected from the entry pool you’ll receive an email from us letting you know you’ve won and requesting that you RSVP to confirm you will be in attendance. The email will also explain how to obtain your entry wristband at the venue day of the show. If you did not win, you will also receive an email from us.
- Please RSVP to your winner notification email by the deadline. It helps us maximize the capacity for as many fans to see the show as possible.
- Please follow the day of show check-in schedule you receive in your winner notification email. Winners who have not RSVP’d and checked in by 7pm are no longer guaranteed entry. They will have the option to join the standby line which is filled on a first come first serve basis until capacity is reached. If you come up to the door at the last minute you may be out of luck.
- All free passes are for the orchestra level only.
- A valid ID must be presented to the staff at check in to match the name entered into the random drawing.
- Free passes are not transferable or for sale.
Q: If I enter to win free passes more than once does that increase my chances of winning?
Entering the random drawing multiple times for a single performance does not improve your chances of winning and multiple entries will be deleted. A random drawing is conducted to determine the winners of the free passes for entry to the performance.

Q: I’ve won free passes to the Free and Easy Concert but now I can’t make the performance. Can I give my winning entry to a friend?
Passes for the Free and Easy Concerts are non-transferrable. If you know in advance you can no longer attend the performance any notification sent to us is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, we cannot transfer your winning pass to another person. Q: I heard you have a standby line for entry into the Free and Easy Live Concerts even if I wasn’t selected as a winner in the online random drawing. How does that work and am I guaranteed a spot if I show up?
You are correct, we have a standby option on show days but it does not guarantee entry to the live performance. Once all of our free pass winners have checked-in and received their wristbands for entry, if we have not reached the legal capacity for the venue as set by the Fire Marshall, we will allow standby patrons entry to the live taping on a first come first serve basis. Once we have reached the capacity limit for the venue the line is cut off. The venue’s capacity limit is set by the State Fire Marshal and is strictly enforced.
- Note: Patrons who have received a winner notification and have not RSVP’d to confirm or show up after the 7pm winner check-in closes, forfeit their guaranteed entry into the performance but have the option to join our standby line.
Want to take a chance on our standby line? Here’s how…
- Standby patrons will be allowed to begin cueing at the venue in the area marked for standby no earlier than 4pm although we recommend arriving around 6:30pm.
- After 7pm we will open the standby line for check in and wrist-banded entry into the live performance, as space allows.
- Standby will be honored on a first come first serve basis until capacity is reached.
Q: I bought a pair of passes online from [ insert third party ticketing person or agency here ], now what do I do to get my ticket day of show?
Please note, we DO NOT SELL tickets to Infinity Hall Live Free and Easy Concert tapings. That means that anyone claiming to be selling “tickets” to an IHL Free and Easy Concert on any other ticket exchanges, Craigslist, eBay, StubHub, etc. is selling counterfeit tickets or a non-transferrable free pass. Don’t fall for this – it’s a scam and any passes acquired this way will NOT be honored. A valid ID matching the pass winner’s name must be presented at check-in.
Q: If this is being recorded for television do I have to sign something?
No you do not. The Infinity Hall Live Free and Easy concerts are filmed for future public viewing. Your attendance at any live event will be deemed to constitute your consent to being filmed, photographed, and/or recorded and your image, likeness, and/or voice being used by Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network Inc. in any medium in perpetuity.
Q: Can I take pictures or video during the show?
The use of all video or audio recording devices is strictly prohibited. No Cell Phone use during the taping. We ask you to remember that we’re taping a television show and we are trying to capture a great performance by a great artist for posterity and national distribution. Not only will we capture that great footage for you, we want to see your beautiful faces in our audience shots, not your cell phones!
Q: It’s OK to chat during the show, right?
The venue makes every effort to create a performance environment that is the best “listening room” for intimate live performances. This will ensure that you, other guests, and the performers enjoy the full benefits of the performance. For this reason, we request that once the program is underway you respect fellow audience members and the artist performing by refraining from talking or texting while the performance is in progress. Cellular phones, beepers, watches, electronic organizers, or other noise alarm devices should be switched to silent mode during the performance.
Our recording a live performance in no way means we don’t want you to get excited and shout and sing along – indeed, we encourage that. All music fans know that the more enthusiasm they show for the artist, the greater the heights to which the artist will go and we are there ready to capture those special moments.
Q: Do you have a volunteer program?
We do have a limited number of volunteer opportunities at each of our live concerts. You can find out more by visiting our Become an Infinity Hall Live Volunteer! page.
Q: Can I smoke in the venue?
Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the venue. You can smoke outside the building, but the venue does not allow patrons to enter in and out during the show. In other words, if you go out to smoke, there is no re-entry into the performance.
